Anfopop

Anfopop is the production studio behind Geek & Gamer Quest, a long-running web series that travels conventions, arcades, and theme parks to capture the people, the craft, and the chaos of geek culture. The site needed to feel less like a brochure and more like a streaming platform: cinematic hero moments, a deep episode library, and immediate access to whatever just dropped on YouTube.

I built a fully custom WordPress theme on top of Toolset Custom Fields, modeling Series, Seasons, Episodes, and Cosplay galleries as first-class content types. Editors can publish a new episode with a YouTube embed, runtime, and thumbnail in seconds, and it instantly populates the homepage rail, the season archive, and the dedicated episode page.

The frontend is hand-crafted with SCSS compiled on top of a tightly-customized Bootstrap grid, giving the team a responsive system that holds up from phone-screen scrolling to big-screen browsing without ever feeling like a default theme. JavaScript powers the lightbox episode player, the cosplay gallery interactions, and a marquee of show moments that runs across the page.

Everything is hosted on WP Engine for the speed and uptime a media site needs, with a dashboard tuned to a two-person creative team, so Anfopop can spend their time chasing the next quest instead of wrangling the CMS.
