PROMISE โ the PRostate cancer Outcomes and Germline Mutations for Improved Survival and Treatment Effectiveness study โ is a groundbreaking research registry led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in collaboration with leading urologists, genetic counselors, and prostate cancer patients across the United States. The study’s mission is to understand how inherited genetic differences can influence treatment outcomes and guide precision medicine in prostate cancer care.
The platform needed to serve two distinct audiences: patients considering enrollment and physicians referring patients to the study. For patients, the site demystifies the research process through a clear three-step “How It Works” journey โ register online, receive a free at-home DNA saliva kit, and get personalized genetic results with access to a licensed genetic counselor. For physicians, a dedicated portal explains eligibility criteria, referral workflows, and collaboration opportunities.
We built a custom WordPress theme with Toolset Custom Fields and Views to give the research team full editorial control over evolving study content, FAQ updates, patient testimonials, and physician resources. The site is hosted on AWS Lightsail with CDN-backed asset delivery, ensuring fast, reliable access for patients and providers nationwide, including those in rural areas and U.S. territories.
