About the project Nine seconds to a safer world.

Scammers are getting smarter, but a nine-second pause is often all it takes to stay ahead of them. Take 9 is a public awareness campaign — fronted by Sesame Street’s Count von Count — built to teach people to stop and think before they click a link, download a file, or share personal information.

We built the original site in WordPress with a heavily customized field architecture, so the campaign team could author three signature lessons — spotting phishing hooks, protecting personal information, and verifying who’s really on the other end — without ever touching code. Each step paired a real-world scenario with a “how to protect yourself” callout, all driven from structured content.

GSAP ScrollTrigger powered the through-line of the experience: the hero video count-up, sticky step counters, sectional reveals, and the playful pacing that mirrored the “pause, then act” message of the brand. SCSS was compiled into a tight, tokenized stylesheet so type, color, and spacing stayed consistent across every lesson, callout, and CTA.

Every push to main shipped through GitHub Actions to WP Engine, giving the team a hands-off deploy pipeline so they could focus on the message — not the mechanics — while the campaign was in market.
